Pro Pilot '99 puts you in the cockpit of one of six airplanes and give you the opportunity to fly nearly anywhere in the world. The flight simulation provides general aviation guidelines, navigational aids and high tech communications as it recreates piloting and realistic procedures in literally dozens of flight-based areas.<br><br>Features in Pro Pilot '99 are numerous and include 3D graphic acceleration, a pop-up operator's handbook with hundreds of details required for checkout and flight, real world geography, true-to-life navigational aids and options, flight-planning facilities, an in-depth manual and quick reference cards for all six aircraft.<br><br>The game includes more than 38 million elevation points for pin-point locale identification as well as a reality-based Global Positioning System. Additionally, a fully functional Instrument Landing System (ILS), Non-Directional Beacons (NDB) and Very high Omni-directional Range (VOR) aids are fully integrated into the game. Over 4,300 airports, 35 major metropolitan areas and scenic locales in the United States, Canada (Montreal and Toronto) and Western Europe are part of the package.<br><br>The six aircraft available in Pro Pilot '99 include both single and twin engine airplanes. For those familiar with Pro Pilot '98, one new plane has been added to the five previously featured, namely, the Cessna C172R Skyhawk. Others include the Cessna C172P (high wing, single-engine trainer), the Beechcraft Bonanza V35 (low wing, high performance single engine) and the Beechcraft Baron B58 (twin engine). Rounding out the hangar is the Cessna Citation 525, a luxury commercial jet and the Beechcraft Super King Air B200 high performance twin engine aircraft.<br><br>The 3D acceleration enhances cloud translucency and layering, sun-effects, smoothly scrolling landscapes and fast frame rates. Two manuals, over 300 pages combined, offer details on nearly every phase of piloting. Topics covered include basic training aspects to experienced piloting subjects. Tutorials (36, covering all planes), a "Learning to Fly" segment, aircraft and systems explanations, airspace classifications and radio communications, cross-country and instrument flight procedures and navigational expertise are but some of the attractions of Pro Pilot '99.
