Additionally, the manufacturer has provided the capacity to expand the system, with two 1768 modules and 16 1769-modules, to handle any conditions. With two megabytes of user memory, you get sufficient storage for your applications. CompactLogix brand controllers are created by the manufacturer to only support nonvolatile storage, through CompactFlash memory cards. The 1768-L43 provides a number of communication options, including Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and ControlNet. Its RS-232 port also provides a faster and universal means for serial communication with other devices. You can configure the RS-232 port of a CompactLogix brand controller to act as a DH-485 interface.
