Just set the brightness level you want, then just one button to turn on and off at that level. Still has the gradual dimming and brightening as it operates that gives it that movie theater house light dimming effect. I like having a remote to turn lights on and off from my bed, or my recliner. No need to move in the dark to a wall switch. I avoid stubbing my toes.
