By offering incredible high quality 24 bit audio at 192 kHz and a signal to noise ratio of 104 dB, the PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS is 256 times the clarity of a basic notebook sound card. It can even come close to matching the superior quality and rich feature set of the desktop version of this model. That can make it a great choice when you want to watch movies and enjoy intense gaming sessions from any room in your house. Thanks to an integrated MLP decoder, it can also play DVD-audio discs with stunning high quality stereo sound.The PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS was the first notebook card to enable 3D positional audio and hardware accelerated EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD sound effects. To really experience everything your computer has to offer, this card can support a full 7.1 channels of immersive Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES surround sound. The Creative Multi Speaker Surround (CMSS) mode can even create a convincing 5.1 channel surround sound field with only stereo sources. By pairing this device with THX certified speakers, you can feel like you are really there in the midst of the action, taking the realism to even greater heights.The Sound Blaster Audigy card can also transform notebook PCs into your own personal home recording studio. Creative's Smart Recorder program can quickly convert different sources, including internet radio, vinyl records, cassettes, and MiniDiscs directly to MP3 format.
