I paid more for this battery (about twice as much) because it is a Lumix product, not 3rd party. I have owned about a dozen of both kinds. My experience with 3rd party Li-Ion batteries is that they can swell over time, which is dangerous and can make them hard to remove from the camera. They also don't hold a charge as well. This has not occurred with my Lumix batteries, so I don't expect it to happy with this one -- but it's early days.
