Lead wires seem to be made with silicone insulation and are very easy to manipulate and move around. Box emits a faint hum when turned on and it works well to make grass tufts! Have not yet used the shaker to emit a static field away from the box. Be sure to avoid touching the top plate while the device is turned on or you will get a small zap. Probably not good for those who have a pacemaker or other electronic implant. Would buy again!
