Synopsis
Long/DeTemple/Millman's Mathematical Reasoning for Elementary Teachers presents the mathematical content needed for teaching within the context of the elementary classroom, giving future teachers the motivation they need while also showing them the bigger picture of when they will use and teach the concepts. The program endeavors to answer the frequently-asked question "Why are we learning this?" by going beyond skill explanations and showing the ways that these concepts are implemented in the future classroom and what types of questions children may ask. Now updated to include the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, the text imparts mathematical reasoning skills, a deep conceptual understanding, and a positive attitude to those who aspire to be elementary or middle school teachers. ALERT: Before you purchase, check with your instructor or review your course syllabus to ensure that you select the correct ISBN . Several versions of Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products exist for each title, including customized versions for individual schools, and registrations are not transferable. In addition, you may need a CourseID , provided by your instructor, to register for and use Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products. The book was exactly as described and arrived quickly. The only problem is a recurring one with this seller and other similar sellers - the book is poorly packaged in a plastic envelope and gets heavily bumped in shipping. I would like to see the books wrapped before shipment, but I understand this can't be done for cost reason. Luckily it isn't an expensive book, and I will continue to purchase basic books from this seller. A+++++

Positive experience but could be better. Item description was accurate but, it was shipped in a simple bag with no carton or any protection. The bag was broken in places and the USPS bent the book like it was a newspaper and ruined what was an excellent looking book. That was clearly the USPS fault but a "Do Not Bend" or carton would help next time. Otherwise accurate description, value, condition and Fast shipping. I'm a returning customer and will keep buying from World of Books
