As an introduction to beautiful but sometimes overlooked animals in series publications, these books are a great addition. Any young animal lover will pore over the vivid photographs and will feel accomplished reading the text independently. These books would also make a great introduction to factual writing and research for young students as the series is consistent in content and organization with a good model of presenting scientific information for early elementary students.
