I feel the majority of the students we see in developmental courses just don't know how to succeed in math and many feel that they never will. A book like this can be the help students need to turn their failure around., The sentences are clear, short, and concise. The text gives excellent advice and does it in a manner that uplifts a student's desire to use these methods. It does not talk down to the student. I have had many students comment on how well they like the text and how it has improved their study habits. . . . The major strength of the text is that it gives sound advice on how to overcome all of the problems students have when taking a math class., Preface to the Instructor / Introduction to the Student / How to Evaluate How Well You Study in Math CoursesPART I: MAKE A FRESH START1. How to Have the Right Attitude in Math CoursesPART II: MAKE SUCCESSFUL COURSE PREPARATION YOUR CONSISTENT ROUTINE2. How to Begin Before Your Math Course Starts3. How to Use Your Time Between Classes--Homework and BeyondPART III: MAKE PREPARING FOR TESTS A SURE THING7. How to Aim for Perfection in Your Test Preparation8. How to Make a List of Topics That Might Be Covered on the Test9. How to Master Each Topic10. How to Be a Perfectionist When Preparing for a Test11. The book was exactly as described and arrived quickly. The only problem is a recurring one with this seller and other similar sellers - the book is poorly packaged in a plastic envelope and gets heavily bumped in shipping. I would like to see the books wrapped before shipment, but I understand this can't be done for cost reason. Luckily it isn't an expensive book, and I will continue to purchase basic books from this seller. A+++++

Positive experience but could be better. Item description was accurate but, it was shipped in a simple bag with no carton or any protection. The bag was broken in places and the USPS bent the book like it was a newspaper and ruined what was an excellent looking book. That was clearly the USPS fault but a "Do Not Bend" or carton would help next time. Otherwise accurate description, value, condition and Fast shipping. I'm a returning customer and will keep buying from World of Books
