Seller Notes: “This car was sold to us and represented as a 442. In 1972 the 442 was only available as a package ... “This car was sold to us and represented as a 442. In 1972 the 442 was only available as a package that you could add to a Cutlass S along with other Cutlass models. After reading up on this the only true way to know is with the Build sheet. The original sales contract states Cutlass S Hardtop. With the 442 package the suspension was built stronger and you could get with Bucket Seats or Benh Seat. You could still get a 350 Rocket Engine and still have the 442 package or you could have gotten it with the 455 engine in which case the exhaust would have exited thru the holes cut out in the bumper but that was only done with the 455 Engine which this car does not have. You can see pics of the undercarriage that I have added. I am saying all this cause I don't want to mislead anyone as far as being a true 442 or just a Cutlass S. I believe it does have the package and as I said the person we got it from told us it was a real 442, but I just can't say 100% that it is or it is not.”
