I think this record was inevitable. Yeah, I still call them records. The first thing I wanted to do was SING. I was born on the South Side of Chicago, raised by my mother and grandparents a mostly all black neighborhood - let's just say I was the only white boy that I can remember. When I was six my father moved to Detroit to write songs ( ' For Once in my Life,' ' Heaven Help us All,' 'Touch Me in the Morning,' to name just a few ) for Motown and I was left with the streets of Chicago, and those streets were filled with music. Soul Music. It felt every bit a part of my DNA. When I was 16 I reconnected with my Pop. He followed Motown to LosAngeles and my sister and I went with him.During that time I got to experience the music business and my musical idols. I hope I learned my lessons well. For a long time I ran away from my first dream, but that inescapable need to do this music eventually brought me home. This project has been a long time coming, and this song CD is just half of it. There are at least 6 more songs to come, including some of my originals. I often say that I took the longest road to get back where I started : wanting to SING. Soul music. This is my journey. Soul Searching.
