This portable, hand-held slicer/shredder performs many of the functions of a food processor, but it's considerably less expensive. It won't knead dough, chop ice, or process meats, but it performs a variety of shredding, slicing, and chopping tasks to make life in the kitchen a little easier. You can slice cucumbers directly onto a salad, shred cheese right over a pizza, or shred chocolate onto a favorite dessert.. This unit may not be ideal if you often process large quantities of food, but it's handy and economical for lighter jobs or the occasional cook.
