This two-part drama tells the incredible true-life story of flamboyant aristocrat, Lord Lucan and the murder case from which he infamously fled in 1974. Based on the book, THE GAMBLERS by John Pearson, the dramatisation follows Lucan (Rory Kinnear, SKYFALL) as his marriage to Veronica (Catherine McCormack), the Countess of Lucan, disintegrates - later igniting a bitter custody war over their three children. The violent murder of the Lucan's nanny Sandra Rivett, and the aristocrat's subsequent disappearance have intrigued the public ever since. For his book, Pearson (played here by Paul Freeman) extensively interviewed fellow gamblers at the Clermont Club - Lucan's second home, and pieced together the tragic details of the one of modern British history's most enduring mysteries.
