As in the original Baldur's Gate adventure, players control a party of up to six characters who travel through huge areas and take part in cleverly scripted adventures based on the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons gaming system. The title features an isometric view of 3D characters in exquisite, hand-designed backgrounds as they explore the fantasy world and interact with its inhabitants. The otherwise real-time action is easily paused at any point to allow the player time to consider strategies or issue complex orders to the party members. Building upon the successes of the original game, this sequel offers larger areas, more quests, and higher-level characters.
