This game features every NBA franchise that was active in 2012 along with all of the players. This Wii U sports game also adds a handful of legendary teams from the NBA's past along with some brand-new teams, such as a celebrity team. "NBA 2k13" for the Wii U upholds the series' tradition of spectacular gameplay. From the first game you play, you'll love the tight controls. The title reacts to your button presses instantly with no lag. You'll pull off passes and jump shots that will make even Michael Jordan jealous. While this Nintendo console title has a lot of nuances to its controls, within two or three games, you'll be an expert. You can spin around defenders, fake a shot, and even throw alley-oops to your teammates. If you've seen it in an NBA game, you can recreate it here. That level of realism extends to the presentation of the title as well. Each game is similar to a sports broadcast. A group of commentators will discuss every play of the game as it happens. They will frequently go to the sidelines for more in-depth conversations with players and coaches. For particularly dramatic moves, such as a slam dunk, the player is shown a replay. The crowd is also one of the most detailed seen in video games at the time. Every group member is individually modeled, giving them a unique look. You'll be hard-pressed to spot two of the same crowd members in the stands. This realism extends to the athletes themselves as well. Almost every player who was in the NBA at the time had his face scanned into the game. That means the LeBron James you see on your screen is going to look exactly like the one in real life. This basketball title comes with an array of modes. There is your standard exhibition type, letting you battle it out against any other squad. The MyCareer mode allows you to create your own character and ascend to the ranks of stardom. The franchise mode gives you control over everything about the team from drafting athletes to setting ticket prices. There is also an online multiplayer so that you can test your skills against a global audience. The Wii U version of this title includes some cool features. Using the unique nature of the Wii U tablet, the developers of this title included a feature that gives you the edge on the court. At any time, you can tilt the tablet to activate the Gatorade Biometric Scan. This scan displays how hot a particular athlete is on the Wii U's secondary screen on the controller. Tap on an athlete to get detailed statistics or use this screen to make quick coaching decisions.
