The amplifier tube had broken off at some point during transit, and the only way to repair was to completely disassemble the unit to access it from the inside. Once open, I could tell that several components had been hastily glued back, and the glue didn't hold. Comparing against my current model, I could tell this glue didn't come from the manufacturer. Glue was dripping and visible on the outside.
