It offers both wireless 3G/4G WAN connectivity and wired Ethernet connectivity. The Wi-Fi has a range up to 750 feet and external Wi-Fi antennas are available. The router has five Ethernet ports comprised of four Local Area Network (LAN) ports and one Wide Area Network (WAN) port. Various form factors are supported with compatible modems, including three USBs and two ExpressCard slots. The MBR1400 router has plug-and-play facilities to support over 120 broadband data modems. The serial console has a USB-to-serial cable to handle out-of-band management of other devices. The router is easy to install; simply follow the instructions given by the setup wizard. The secure setup process is quick and easy, allowing you to benefit from an instant connection so that you can enhance your business productivity effortlessly. The many features of this router include secure VPN, dual-band Wi-Fi broadcast, Wi-Fi as WAN, failover and failback, private and public networks, remote management options, modem health management, and WiPipe Central for deployed units. This powerful business series router has a business-grade wireless WAN modem embedded in it for business and enterprise continuity. The continuous uptime and bandwidth that you require is given via the high-speed 3G/4G Wi-Fi connectivity. This ensures that you do not lose out in business productivity or opportunities, and that the business growth in cloud computing is supported. The Cradlepoint MBR1400 series router acts as either a secure primary connection to the Internet or a backup connection. Its most powerful feature is that it can create instant networks wherever a broadband signal is received and is also a high-speed Wi-Fi broadband data source. It does this by using USB or ExpressCard data modems. Alternatively, traditional wired networking solutions are used for Ethernet-based connectivity, such as DSL, T1, or Cable. Create a network instantly using WiMAX, LTE, or another type of Wi-Fi broadband technology. This secure business network is compatible with the large networking infrastructure providers. The Cradlepoint ARC MBR1400 series router is designed for network architectures that are PCI compliant and is specifically engineered for continuous Internet connectivity, 24 hours per day for seven days a week. The VPN capability and additional security features ensure POS transactions and main office access are protected by a secure network. The advanced Wi-Fi encryption, VLAN capabilities, and LAN segmentation protect the LAN connections. There are up to 20 concurrent VPN endpoint sessions. The flexibility of this Cradlepoint MBR1400 router means that you can have a primary connection from the integrated 3G/4G Wi-Fi modem or use it as a failover in the case of a disrupted wired connection. In the event that failover occurs, you receive a proactive alert via the Enterprise Cloud Manager (ECM). When a disruption occurs with wired WAN, there is automatic failover to a wireless WAN connection. When this wired WAN connection has been restored, there is automatic failback. As the next generation application platform from Cradlepoint, ECM lets you deploy and manage networks at offices that are geographically distributed.
