The product clearly shows a clamp type mount. The actual product has mounting slots for attaching the mount molded into the back of the case. The mount itself is designed for attachment to the windshield. The suction cup can't attach to the dashboard. With the GPS mounted on the windshield, we cannot put up our sunscreen without removing the GPS each time. We are considering sending the unit back even though it works OK. Or we'll have to buy a different mount which we didn't expect.
