Para establecer el manejo adecuado del café, se requiere amplio conocimiento de la planta en relación a su desarrollo y producción, así como de los factores que los afectan. La poda y la fertilización destacan por sus diferentes efectos, ya que si no se realiza en tiempo y forma, las plantas sufren alteraciones que afectan la producción y la estabilidad del sistema. El interés por la poda y la fertilización como parte del manejo agronómico, es creciente en nuestro País. Pero el conocimiento, adopción, implementación y registro que se tiene, es escaso y además si se realiza, no se ejecuta de manera programada. Por ello este libro ofrece a los caficultores conocer mejor la poda y la fertilización, para lograr su implementación de manera regular en el manejo del cultivo y posibilitar el incremento de la producción sostenible de café.
