To stop it , there's on and off slide switch but, that defeats the purpose of having a key finder. It also has a push button that turns on weak red light as long you keep the button pushed. This feature is handy for finding key lock slots in the dark. As a key finder, it's annoying But, at a $1.00 each it's worth it for the light.
