About this product

Product Information

A post-apocalyptic wildlife adventure for all ages, 'From Acorn to Oak: The Tale of Buck Badger' tells the story of Buck, a young badger who longed to escape the confines of the badger sett. After a catastrophic venture to the outside, Buck is banished by his family to live alone in the daunting, outside world. It is not long before Buck finds that all is not evil on the outside as he befriends and joins a group of friendly scavengers, Heather the rabbit, Clover the sheep and Marshmallow 'Marshy' the Hedgehog. They hunt down a vicious gang of animal slavers who have stolen all the children from 'Triplet Town', once a place of sanctuary for the uninfected animals of the devastated world, and taken them to the feared 'Wetlands'.**Parental Notice: Despite this being a novel about talking animals, the content might not be suitable for young children to read alone. You have been warned, so please do not come crying to me if your children starting asking questions about Stalin, Genetics or Biological Warfare. Thank you ;-) **The inspiration behind this book has primarily come from the authors Kenneth Grahame and Richard Adams. Other influences include more of my own personal interests in history and science to allow my anthropomorphised characters an existence in a modern, parallel world and as such the content and language has been aimed at the more mature of children, similar to the readers of Richard Adams' 'Watership down'It should also be noted that I bear no malice towards squirrels at all. I am a great supporter of the woodlands & all the creatures that inhabit them.

Book is fine, arrived in great condition, quickly. However, book's appearance is not the same as advertised, nor the publication date. Same contents, different cover. When you're trying to add to a collection of 12 volumes, it makes a difference. Seller refunded me quickly, so all good
