Reviews
"This is one of the most well written books on technique I've ever had the pleasure of going through. This is specific to DWPS (downward pick slanting) or DPO (downward pick orientation) as Chris calls it which is what Yngwie uses, exclusively. It discusses in great detail along with plenty of great examples the best way to train your picking hand and fretting hand to learn the system which you can then adapt to your own lines. Yngwie ascends using economy picking but descends using a great system of leaving on upstrokes and using pull-off's which the author cleverly calls "pick-gato" "Really practical exercises, a lot of examples and detailed explanations + diagrams. If you want to play better, faster and more relaxed, get this book. It's a worthwhile investment!" "Fantastic book!. I have played guitar 30+years and consider my self a decent player. I have seen countless instructional tapes, read a bunch of guitar books and magazines and studied with a number of great teachers. However, I always had issues with my picking technique, and even thou I could pick fast, there was always to much tension involved. This book has helped me a lot in overcoming some major obstacles in my playing, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about their guitar technique."
