The foam washer is slightly thinner but the difference doesn't affect usage at all. I did have a harder time priming these for use, but they seem to work much as the originals. I'm using two right now; the water drains much faster through one than the other. Not sure why, but they work. Was happy to find a replacement. The originals lasted years!
