This locking shock fork was lighter than my original non-locking fork and it came tapered to match my tapered carbon fiber frame/headset. The fork I replaced was straight and had required an adapter to fit. The Bucklos fork includes some upgrades to the quality. My local bike shop installed mine for me at a reasonable rate and even corrected some issues with the wheel that was not assembled in the factory correctly. This is a major upgrade and makes climbing efficient.
