About this product

Product Information

The Creek were once the most powerful American Indians in the southeastern United States. Then in the 1800s, war pitted Creek against Creek and U.S. soldiers. Those who survived lost millions of acres of land to the U.S. government. Most Creek were forced to move west to Indian Territory, where they became the Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Oklahoma. the Creek who remained in the Southeast became the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Both groups cherish the traditions, language, and values of their ancestors while looking ahead to a bright future.
