About this product

    Product Information

In Fighter Squadron: The Screamin' Demons over Europe, you are part of a ten man fighter squadron during World War II. A variety of pilot statistics and items are monitored and updated during their careers, including the number of kills, ribbons awarded, medals awarded, total score and current rank. A player's rank will determine how much control they have over their squadron.

Pilots can choose to fly for Britain, Germany or the United States. The aircraft available for the United Kingdom are the DeHavilland Mosquito Mk VI, Avro Lancaster Mk II, Hawker Typhoon Mk IB and the Spitfire MK Ib. As a pilot for the United States, players can fly the following aircraft: North American P-51D Mustang, Lockheed P-38J Lightning and the Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress. Germany's choice of aircraft includes the Focke-Wulf Fw-190A, Messerschmitt Me-262A, and Junkers Ju-88A.

To become familiar with the basics of being a pilot, players can run through a number of training exercises. Here they can learn how to takeoff and land as well as a variety of maneuvers. Once a pilot feels capable of flying the aircraft, he can move on to the missions by choosing a theatre of operations: North Africa, Dover or Rhineland. After choosing a theatre, the mission can then be selected on which he receives a briefing prior to takeoff.

In total, there are 90 missions in 30 scenarios. Additionally, players can use the mission editor to create their own missions. Fighter Squadron: The Screamin' Demons over Europe is also multiplayer compatible, allowing dogfight action via a LAN or the Internet.
