Additional information
This third album from Detroit hard rockers Halloween has one of the more convoluted back stories in "lost album" history. Originally recorded in 1986, Victims of the Night was meant to follow the group's 1985 debut Don't Metal with Evil, but was shelved when the band underwent a series of lineup and management changes in the late '80s. While Halloween toiled into the early '90s on what would become their actual sophomore release No One Gets Out!, they were waylaid after the 1991 release of that album by yet more changes to the lineup and various personnel conflicts. Years went by before they were back on track enough to finally release Victims of the Night in 1997, a full decade after it was recorded, and six years after an album that it didn't bear a whole lot in common with stylistically. ~ Fred Thomas
