While many thought this day would eventually come, few were actually prepared. Nuclear weapons rained from the sky with such devastation that millions died within seconds. Who unleashed such a force? Rival nations? Terrorists? Apparently a group known as the Death Squad launched the weapons in their quest for world domination. They had built their cities and vehicles to withstand the intense radiation, and it appeared that everything worked according to plan.<br><br>Yet they didn't count on a scientist defecting from their ranks, one who had developed a vehicle prototype with the power to put an end to their tyranny. This is where you come in. As the only one who can fit inside the prototype, you must pose as a member of the Death Squad and enter their famous road rally, where mines and cannon towers pave the dangerous roads toward freedom.<br><br>Your mission is as follows: complete each race while avoiding any hazards or rival cars standing in your way. Eventually, you'll be able to infiltrate the Death Squad's headquarters to defeat them! Don't worry, you're not completely alone out there. A friend in an airship will periodically drop one of four special weapons to help out: U.Z. Cannons, Electro Shields, Nitro Injectors and Cruise Missiles. These complement your standard-issue machine guns. <br><br>RoadBlasters for the Lynx is a port of Atari Games' 1987 arcade game of the same name. The perspective is behind the red vehicle as you steer left or right using the directional pad. Your car has a limited amount of fuel, however, so you'll need to watch for green and red globes to keep your gas-guzzler at full capacity. Reach the finish line within the time limit and you'll progress to the next stage. All 50 levels are straight from the arcade game and feature scaling as well as digitized speech.
