In this fantasy epic, Frodo (Elijah Wood) travels with an assortment of companions, including Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin), Pippin Took (Billy Boyd), Merry Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan), among others, as they set out for Mt. Doom. "The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy" nine-disc Blu-ray set includes such extra features as extended footage not seen on the big screen and 26 hours of material that takes the viewer behind the scenes. "The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy" earned numerous award nominations and several Academy Awards, including Best Picture ("The Return of the King").
