It is a heart rate monitor that comes with the battery. Initially it didn’t work. The battery might be 10 years old and died of old age. I went to replace the battery which requires very small (0) Phillips head screwdriver. Initially they were very difficult to unscrew (fear of battery acid leak) But able to open, battery dead without leak, and worked perfectly with new battery. A WIN.
