It may have been due partially to USPS, but it could have been packed a lot better. The cardboard included did not extend all the way to cover the metal completely and, in my opinion, there should have been cardboard on both sides. Since it is going on the wall above a door jam it shouldn't be that noticeable. But for the shipping costs, disappointed.
