Synopsis
The inspired illumination of any given space can amplify its aesthetic impact and take it from the pedestrian to the sublime. And, for years, this excellent reference has guided architects and designers in the achievement of lighting artistry. Enhanced with more than one hundred new illustrations, Interior Lighting for Designers, 4th Edition takes readers step-by-step through the lighting design process as it covers lighting terminology, perception, general design strategies, and much more. Revised to address recent advances in lighting technology and practice, this edition also covers new equipment as well as revised specifications for existing equipment. Color photos of various design applications beautifully illustrate project concepts. Little wonder that this work has been identified as one of the "key preparation references" for design professionals facing their Lighting Certified examination., Lighting is a critical element in the design process. Whetherdesigners are creating their own lighting scheme or working withlighting consultants, they must have a basic understanding oftechnical issues, equipment, and design principles. This book iswidely recognised as one of the most valuable primers on lighting., The revised edition of the highly successful, seminal book that hasintroduced generations of architects and designers to theprinciples of lighting Written by one of the world's masters of architecturallighting design, Interior Lighting for Designers, Fourth Editionclearly and concisely describes the same steps in the lightingdesign process that a professional follows in practice. Working from the premise that lighting design is a rationalprocess, author Gary Gordon provides a solid conceptual foundationbased on the conviction that the lighting condition of interiorshas enormous emotional impact on people. With an emphasis ondesigning light, tools and techniques for every phase of hisprocess are presented as a means to achieve the optimal design. New features in this edition include: Thorough examinations of the latest advances in lightingtechnology and practice The newest light sources, fixtures, and systems More than 250 illustrations, photographs, and color plates Learn the importance of how objects and surfaces receivelight Gary Gordon's guiding principle and developthe skills to design comfortable environments that encourageproductivity and well-being, without an overt display of lightingtechnique. Brimming with theory and technical information, InteriorLighting for Designers, Fourth Edition is an invaluable referencefor both students and design professionals.

The book was exactly as described and arrived quickly. The only problem is a recurring one with this seller and other similar sellers - the book is poorly packaged in a plastic envelope and gets heavily bumped in shipping. I would like to see the books wrapped before shipment, but I understand this can't be done for cost reason. Luckily it isn't an expensive book, and I will continue to purchase basic books from this seller. A+++++

Positive experience but could be better. Item description was accurate but, it was shipped in a simple bag with no carton or any protection. The bag was broken in places and the USPS bent the book like it was a newspaper and ruined what was an excellent looking book. That was clearly the USPS fault but a "Do Not Bend" or carton would help next time. Otherwise accurate description, value, condition and Fast shipping. I'm a returning customer and will keep buying from World of Books
