Seller Notes: “This vintage Japanese hand painted silk crane cherry blossoms mother of pearl folding fan dates ... “This vintage Japanese hand painted silk crane cherry blossoms mother of pearl folding fan dates from the 1920s. It is made of a pleated white silk fabric, with hand painted pink cherry blossom flowers and a pair of crane birds, one is standing on a rock in the water. There are mother of pearl inlaid discs accents on the gold painted bamboo wooden sticks, guards and a silver loop ring, rivet holding the fan together at the bottom. This fabulous folding fan has an Japonism Orientalism influenced decorative design. The fan measures 8 1/2 inches long and is 15 inches wide when opened. It is in good condition, with only a few tiny frays along the pleated top silver foil trim edging. This is truly a wonderful piece of Japanese fan art.”
