It is made of a black fine wool fabric with passementerie black silk braiding woven trim on the wool, black and white silk embroidery with ombre pastel chain stitch flowers, embroidered white batiste and white lace trim scalloped edging along the front opening, collar and cuffs. This beautiful black jacket has a fitted tailored short crop Spencer style shorter in the back longer in the front, with a small fold over collar, gathered pleated shoulders, short puffed balloon sleeves, decorative spiral black silk button trim, an open front with no closure, is fully lined in a white silk fabric with an "Our Specialty Originality Rice Chicago" label sewn inside. The jacket measures 18 inches long in the front, 14 inches long in the back, with a 36 inch chest, 16 inch long sleeve and 12 1/2 inch back. It is in good condition, with only some slight discoloration under the arms with frayed splits on the inside silk lining and near the label (see close-ups). Victorian era Rice C”
