About this product
Product Information
The retro Trojan NES game by Capcom, lets you use your fighting skills to battle your way through this side scrolling ROM, and try to survive a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You can forget about using guns and bombs, and put your faith in your stalwart shield and trusty sword instead. As you play through the game, you fight your way through six stages, to eventually defeat Achilles, and save the planet from his evil doings. This game is based on the original arcade version, like many Gameboy and SNES games are, with several new features. You can find new power ups, explore more hidden rooms, and even fight against other players when using the game’s Versus mode. This was Capcom’s first game in the fighting genre, also populated by titles for consoles such as Super Nintendo, Game Boy, PSP, and Atari, and it lays the groundwork for everything that followed. The Trojan NES game by Capcom originally released as a coin operated arcade game in 1986. A home version for DOS and the Nintendo Entertainment System became available during the same year. Set in the post-apocalyptic future in the aftermath of nuclear war, players take on the character of a warrior hired to defeat an evil dictator, Achilles, and his gang. Our hero knows a variety of martial arts and is fully armed with a shield and sword. The Trojan NES game can be played by two alternating players. The game’s controller is an eight-way joystick, as well as two action buttons. Similar to other Nintendo games such as Rush’n Attack or Kung-Fu Master, players jump by holding their joystick in an upwards direction, instead of using dedicated jump buttons. Instead, you use the two buttons on the joystick to wield your weapon and defend yourself. One button holds the shield and allows you to defend yourself from enemy attacks, including knife throws and projectiles, while the other button allows you to swing your saber and mount an aggressive attack against enemies of various sorts. As you continue to play this Nintendo game, you’ll hold your shield while crouching or standing, as well as diagonally and upwards vertically. There are some enemies in the Trojan NES game that throw objects, such as magic balls, which cause the loss of your sword and shield. When this happens, the A and B buttons instead correspond to punches and kicks when you press them. You will now have to fight barehanded against the enemies, which makes game play more difficult, as well as not allowing you to gain anything as a reward. It is a pretty cool maneuver however, allowing you to fight and brawl bare knuckle style. When you defeat the boss in that particular stage, you get your sword and shield back for the next level. The Trojan NES game is comprised of six stages, during which you will face a series of small fry enemies, sub-bosses during middle stages, and the main boss at the end. Players may start at any of the six levels, but must play through the entire game again after the defeat of Achilles, the final boss, in order to see the game’s true ending. The Trojan NES game can be an enjoyable way to pass a few hours and brush up on your gaming skills.
