The Seagate Cheetah 15k.5 is a 3.5-inch 146 GB storage device designed for PC notebooks and laptops. The Seagate hard drive uses a Fibre Channel interface while offering a spin speed of 15000 RPM, an external data transfer rate of 400 MBps, and an average seek time of 3.5 ms, which are all designed to increase the speed of data retrieval. Perpendicular recording technology allows vertical storage of data on Seagate Cheetah 15k.5, increasing disk versatility and data density. Seagate offers a number of data integrity safeguards in their internal hard drive, including Background Media Scan and Idle Read After Write capabilities. The internal hard drive is also equipped with enhanced Error Correction Code for improved data integrity and optimal reliability. In addition, the Seagate Cheetah 15k.5 provides Hot Swap capabilities, allowing users to switch the hard drive with another Hot Swap-enabled drive without shutting down the system. At 1.8 lb, the Seagate hard drive weighs more than many notebook hard drives, but it provides enough space and flexibility to handle most users' computing needs.
