It works well with both MacBook and PC, the speed will be dependent on the machine/device your using it with. My MacBook uses a relatively recent OS, though quicker than any of my other external drives/storage devices it clocked around 6gps at best and just under 1gps worst. I do a bit of work on my laptops, it’s seems plenty fast for me.
