About this product

Product Information

"One of the greatest writers of the twentieth century . . . Simenon was unequaled at making us look inside, though the ability was masked by his brilliance at absorbing us obsessively in his stories." -- The Guardian Inspector Maigret loses himself in coastal luxury--and danger--in this devastating mystery set on the French Riviera "It had a smell of holidays. The previous evening, in Cannes Harbour, with the setting sun, had also had the smell of holidays, especially the Ardena, whose owner swaggered in front of two girls with gorgeous figures..." Dazzled at first by the glamour of sunny Antibes, Maigret soon finds himself immersed in the less salubrious side of the Riviera as he retraces the final steps of a local eccentric.

Good transaction. Although, as an oversight, there was a problem with one of the books, the seller quickly apologized and issued refund. I would not hesitate to buy from these folks again.

I am disappointed, once again, by ordering a book that's not properly described. It looks like a stock photo was used, instead of the item itself. When a customer returns a book because it's not what was ordered, it's also a waste of time, which is not recoverable. When a book is misrepresented, it's not "just a mistake" but, to me, unprofessional and insulting to the customer. As a 25-year eBay bookseller with a 99% satisfaction rating, I get it right the 1st time: He should, too.
