Some very small rust pits still visible under a microscope, but that's a challenge on how small is small enough. Stripped the saya and put 2 coats of lacquer on so far. Drilling the hole in a pole is the biggest challenge. As always the seller communications is excellent.

Someone spent a lot of time making this, no cheap casting of an original, but I have no idea how long ago. Whatever, as a jeweler who spends time on this stuff, I can say this was a bargain just based on the labor involved to make it. Compared to some of the pot metal castings junk I have bought.
