The heart of this book is the work of Greene & Greene in their early years, up to 1906, the development of what we call today the "Greene & Greene style," and Pasadena's Duncan-Irwin house where it first all came together. He is the author of The Japanese Bath, Arts and Crafts Ideals, and The Beautiful Necessity: Decorating with Arts and Crafts, as well as numerous magazine articles. He lives in the state of Washington. Alexander Vertikoff's award-winning images have been on the cover of every issue of American Bungalow magazine as well as dozens of covers and hundreds of articles in magazines such as Architectural Digest and The New York Times.
