I don't know why the center is designed like that but it's not high quality design, material, disk should've been solid and not with a separate insert which makes the hole very small and barely fits into the grinder plus some low quality material makes the disk riskier and not worth the investment. all other disks I bought are great only this one's weird with it's center.
