I have all of the service sheets for the Atlas/Rivarossi locomotives from this era. I traced the problem to a broken wire on the armature, and I photographed it. These motors were known for failures. I plan to keep it and try to find a replacement motor. I have also tried to contact the seller but have not been successful.
