Brotherly Shackles is about life of a gullible people who, though not blind, are unable to see beyond destiny which they ignorantly worship, and about how brothers' cruelty to brothers perpetually present that destiny only in its negative form. And this community takes destiny as every man's journey through life. For Mr Daniels, a way of embarking on such a journey is through establishing a successful transport company in New Angel,a vast community just savouring the essence of emancipation. But then three monsters lurk to devour him outright through their own uncompromising ways of doing the same journey. The monsters are the Carlos Retfil-led gang of indigines Mr Daniels employs, the Olga-led gullible passengers, and the mistrusting townspeople under the wings of Johnson Dorman. With Carlos' slyly and violently in control, and the other groups resisting and challenging, only the gods can predict the end of the journey for the mass and single idiots of New Angel.
