He lived his adult life in a breath-taking whirl of composing and going to parties, never earning enough money for a comfortable existence. He tragically died at the age of 35. Out of this eccentric genius came the music of modern civilization - symphonies, concertos, chamber works, sacred music and operas which are inspired in their composition and which will continue to give Mozart the reputation as perhaps the world's greatest composer.
