Outremer: Faith and Blood Skirmish Wargames in the Crusades In 1095 AD, Pope Urban II called for all Christians to take up arms and march forth to recapture the Holy Land. Outremer: Faith and Blood provides rules for fighting skirmish wargames during these turbulent conflicts. While suitable for one-off skirmish encounters, the focus of the game is on campaigns, with players able to build a force and develop it over a series of scenarios and encounters, watching it grow from a mere handful of loyal soldiers into a powerful and versatile warband. Character development is central to the growth of a warband, with each of the factions - Crusaders, Military Orders, and Saracens - commanding a range of unique troops that can gain experience and advance over the course of a campaign. Stake your claim to the Holy Land, fight for your faith or for personal gain, and lead your warriors to victory! Book jacket., Outremer: Faith and Blood is a 28mm skirmish wargame featuring small groups of warriors fighting in Outremer during the Crusades. While suitable for one-off skirmish encounters the focus of the game is a structured and progressive campaign setting in which they are able to watch their force grow and develop over a series of scenarios and encounters from a small party of five or so soldiers into a powerful warband a score strong. Character development is key, and a wide range of troop options and factions allows a high degree of individuality and personalization. Players will also be able to recruit mercenaries and agents such as Hashashin and Varangian survivors to bolster their forces--potent but expensive additions that will add a distinct flavor to each encounter.
