After polite prompting from the seller I went back to the original post and followed the instructions there. I was able to get both plates to fit the tripod quite nicely with little effort, saving the tripod from the scrap pile.

Please refer to the included instructions that are highlighted in yellow. The original plate was discontinued by the manufacturer long ago and this replacement plate could require slight sanding for certain Ambico tripods to slide in and out perfectly.

Driving around in a Subaru BRZ was a bit much for my 61 year old hips after a couple of hours in the driver's seat. This memory gel cushion provided enough lift to get my hips a bit higher up on the seat's side bolsters helping alleviate any pain.
