The two-disc set covers the 2011 broadcasting season and features all of the related televised programming as of its release in late 2011. The series is a fantasy drama that centers on the fictional House of Batiatus and is set in ancient Rome. The series focuses on gladiator tournaments and the lives of the characters associated with it. This fantasy drama follows tales of the well-to-do slave owners, slaves, and gladiators. The series depicts repeated drug use, violence, and explicit sex scenes with nudity. Spartacus: Gods of the Arena: The Complete Collection DVD set covers the season in its entirety with six episodes. The two-disc set includes all of the originally aired programming plus bonus features including alternate endings, deleted scenes, and bloopers. The drama is played out over 335 minutes of run time.
