Mit der Umwandlung eines Zweitakter-Spielzeugmotors zum Fahrradhilfsmotor begründete Jörg Rasmussen zu Beginn der 1920er-Jahre den Aufstieg von DKW. Bereits 1928 konnte sich DKW als weltweit erfolgreichste Motorrad-Marke etablieren. Gleichzeitig stieg das Unternehmen in den Pkw-Bau ein und entwickelte 1930 das weltweit erste Serienauto mit Frontantrieb - erneut natürlich mit Zweitaktmotor. Nach der Übernahme von Auto Union durch VW in den 60ern hatte der Zweitakter jedoch ausgedient. Frank Rönicke stellt hier alles vor, was in der Zweitakter-Welt einmal Rang und Namen hatte.
