Hace mucho... mucho tiempo... en los tiempos de los disquetes de 5 1/4 pulgadas, programé algunos juegos en Basic, el primer lenguaje de programación que aprendí. Luego, en la universidad, seguí programando juegos en C++; inclusive hice una versión de Sokoban en Assembler puro; pero el proceso era arduo y con resultados algo desalentadores. La cuestión es que desarrollar videojuegos con el mero lenguaje de programación, sin las ayudas incorporadas y optimizadas de un motor o engine, hoy sólo sería parte de un desafío de programación planeado por el mismísimo Jigsaw que de algo realmente práctico y con razón de ser. Hoy existen muchos motores y librerías de juegos (Skyline, Manu, CryEngine, Phaser IO, tan sólo por nombrar algunos y no a los mismos de siempre). Sin embargo, hay uno que me llama mucho la atención: se trata de Godot Engine, un motor de código abierto para desarrollar juegos multiplataforma 2D y 3D. Un verdadero tesoro! Y tal es el excelente futuro que le auguro que me animé a escribir un libro introductorio sobre este motor... EL LIBRO SE ENCUENTRA EN DESCUENTO ESPECIAL HASTA EL 21 DE DICIEMBRE 2021, En este libro encontrars las bases para la programacin en Godot 3.1 y 3.2. Comenzaremos con lo bsico, y lo bsico consiste en mostrar cmo se escribe en este motor de videojuegos esos programas elementales y tpicos que se explican en cursos iniciales de programacin de computadores.
