Sony's popular baseball sim returns with updates to familiar modes, new ways to play, and classic hardball action in MLB: The Show 16. The Road to the Show returns to let gamers guide a player from the minor leagues all the way to the Hall of Fame, but the action now begins with the new Bowman Scouting Day in which prospects get evaluated. Users can now play through full series without returning to the load screen, add training points in between games, earn new consumable and passive perks to upgrade performance, and use the new ShowTime feature to slow the action in critical moments.<br><br>The card-collecting Diamond Dynasty mode also returns, with players building a 25-man roster, upgrading their team, unlocking legends, collecting Stubs currency, and competing against friends in local or online action. The new Battle Royale mode is a double-elimination PvP tournament in which gamers partake in a 25-round draft and then compete in three-inning games to earn rewards, while the single-player Conquest mode resembles a classic turn-based hex-grid strategy game, with fans as the primary resource. Each turn lets players gain new territory through attacks, capture new fans from other teams' strongholds, reinforce territories with new fans, and shift fans around the country.
